FAQ

How long will it take to get my spa cover?

It takes approximately 2 weeks to manufacture your custom spa cover. Depending on where it is shipping, it usually takes 1 to 5 days for shipping. (There may be longer lead times during peak season; May-September).

Where are your products manufactured?

All our spa covers are locally produced. For our Canadian customers, the covers are manufactured in Canada. For customers in the USA, the covers are manufactured in the United States.

Do I have to pay sales tax?

We collect all applicable sales tax on orders. They are visible to you after ship to address is entered and before the payment is authorized.

How much is shipping?

Shipping is included in the price of the spa cover to Ontario, Quebec and most of the eastern land provinces. Shipping to most areas in the United States is included in the price of the cover. There are additional charges for restricted access deliveries and any off shore islands. Please email us if you have any concerns regarding your shipping fees. There is a flat $50.00 shipping fee added for any order that does not include a cover.

DELIVERY OF SPA COVER – The responsibilities of the Customer.

  • All covers must be thoroughly inspected by the receiving party BEFORE signing the delivery receipt. Please inspect the box for any visible damage. If you see damage to the box, please open the package while the driver is still present. Note any damage to the cover on the delivery receipt. IF THE COVER IS DAMAGED, DO NOT SIGN THE DELIVERY RECEIPT.
  • IT IS THE SOLE REPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER TO THOROUGHLY INSPECT DELIVERED COVER FOR DAMAGES.DO NOT SIGN THE DELIVERY RECEIPT WITHOUT FIRST INSPECTING THE PRODUCT. NEVER SIGN FOR A DAMAGED SPA COVER.
  • If you discover damage after taking delivery, call both the Delivery Company and Blue Ribbon Covers immediately. The sooner you discover the damage, the easier it may to get compensation from the delivery company.

IF THE PURCHASER OF THE COVER (OR THEIR AGENT) SIGNS FOR A DAMAGED COVER, THEY WILL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR FILING A DAMAGE CLAIM WITH THE FREIGHT COMPANY AND THE COST OF A REPLACEMENT SPA COVER. NEVER SIGN FOR A DAMAGED SHIPMENT NO MATTER WHAT THE DELIVERING DRIVER OR COMPANY TELLS YOU. IF THE SHIPMENT IS DAMAGED, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE THE DELIVERY.

Spa Cover Return Policy

All spa cover sales are final. Due to the fact that all of our covers are custom made to the customers specifications we are unable to accept returns, with the exception of cover refused due to freight damage.

Custom-made Spa Covers

  • Custom-made covers may be manufactured in whole or half inch dimensions. As an example, if the order states 82-1/4” x 90-3/4” as cover size, we will round up these dimensions to 82-1/2” x 91”. This will not affect the spa cover’s ability to seal and completely insulate your spa. We will also round up based on the spa manufacturer’s specifications we have on file.
  • Custom-made covers will never be made smaller than the specified dimensions. However, due to the nature of our hand-made spa cover manufacturing process, we reserve the right to allow the cover to be 1” larger than the rounded-up specified size.

How often should I clean my cover?

A light cleaning once a month should be sufficient. You should clean and condition the vinyl. A mild dishwashing soap and water will work for cleaning the underside of the cover.

SPA COVER DO’S AND DON’TS

  • DON’T sit, stand or walk on your spa cover. Doing so may cause the foam inserts to crack or break.
  • DON’T allow children or pets on your spa cover.
  • DON’T allow puddles or snow to accumulate on your spa cover. Use a Broom NOT a Shovel to clear off snow from your cover.
  • DON’T lay inflatable pool toys on top of your cover. They attract heat and will melt the foam cores.
  • DON’T lift your cover by the skirt or the straps, Use the Handles!!
  • DON’T use excessive amounts of chemicals in the water, it is recommended that your water be professionally tested at least once a month.
  • DO make sure you unfasten all the locks before lifting your cover.
  • DO make sure you use the Handles to lift your cover off; Cover lifters are a good idea too.
  • DO keep your cover clean from dirt and debris. Never use a silicone or alcohol based cleaner, they tend to dry-out and deteriorate the vinyl making it prone to cracking and discoloration.
  • DO flip your foam cores at least once a year to prevent sagging. Just like a mattress.
  • DO contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We are always available to help.

Warranty Decision Making

Warranties always seem to be a major concern for manufacturers, dealers and consumers when purchasing spa covers. We feel there are many misconceptions or preconceived ideas of what a spa cover warranty actually involves.

Covering a spa cover with a warranty is not complicated but, over the years, the marketing ploys of some spa cover manufacturers, distributors and/or dealers have muddied the water and given consumers a false impression that the warranty is a guarantee of performance. Simply put, almost all spa covers are warranted against defects in material and workmanship and exclude many “out of our control” factors such as Acts of God and negligence on the part of the spa owner.

The most important exclusion that ALL cover warranties have is shipping costs to and from the manufacturing facility. Like most products that we buy, shipping is a cost the consumer absorbs when having to return a product for repair or replacement. With most products, this cost is of a reasonable nature. With spa covers, this becomes costly and prohibitive for the consumer to return, due to the size.

So the question remains, “Are all warranties useless?” The answer is “Not necessarily”. We recommend that you choose your spa cover based upon how you feel about the company that is going to be asked to stand behind the warranty. It is about how much you trust the company to take care of the consumer when there is a problem. Our advice regarding the warranty of a spa cover is to let the warranty be a secondary or tertiary factor in your overall decision of which spa cover to purchase. It should not be the primary factor in the decision.

All spa cover sales are final. Due to the fact that all of our covers are custom made to the customers specifications we are unable to accept returns, with the exception of cover refused due to freight damage.
